Dancers in Time
I'm listening to one of Cat Steven's old tracks whilst working on a Family Video clip in Smilebox. Days later, and I'm still struggling with the software, files have disappeared, lost the music, and so on.....
And I'm thinking, how come all of the technology that we use today seems to imitate our dysfunctional lives? Things disappearing, struggle, instructions not working properly. You sit down for a relaxing movie, and DVD player doesn't work
I look back on some of the memories of my children's early years, my grand-children's early years, and find it hard to imagine they were so little and fragile at the time. Or even looking at myself from my early years, so innocent and courageous and trusting!
Is there some kind of point to all of this, for everything to keep disappearing and then we start wearing our masks to try and defend ourselves? And then for the rest of our lives we try and unlearn all that we have learned. And if we are fortunate enough to find a teacher who can show us how to do this, we are truly blessed.
For I see that people around me, including friends of mine, seem to be struggling with their life, and I can only share some of my own experiences to encourage them to have a different perspective. But ultimately each human being needs to find their own 'self-mirror' and ask for help from LIFE's well of wisdom.
After many years of reading the TAROT at markets (I used to call it Self-Visualization) and trying to help people with their problems, I realized that it was a very temporary prop - perhaps just a trigger to move them on their way. Now I work as a part-time Remedial teacher and I do the same for my students, just to provide them with a little trigger of renewed inspiration to steer them in the direction of how joyful learning can be. The rest is up to them.
The above image of the 'Dancers in Time' for me represents the flowing, evolving movement of ME in this very finite, physical world, but it also vibrates with the joy of knowing one's real Self that keeps me anchored to an infinite, unchanging world.
How we hate change. As long as everything around us tends to revolve around our expectations, all is well. But often they don't. And we forget that our purpose as human beings is to find that shelter within that carries and permeates that divine LOVE and PEACE and connects us to THAT that nurtured us before our birth and will be there after our DEATH.
Once we can connect to THAT...no matter how hopeless it appears on the outside, I have a place where I can renew myself and feel nurtured and loved.
Quote by Prem Rawat
The coming and going keeps happening
on the face of this earth
Trillions have come
Trillions will go
There'll be new problems, new things, old things,
There'll be memories and history
There'll be lies and people will want truths
There will be someone who will try to define what truth is...
And then there'll be the one who says
'Feel the truth in your LIFE'
